I know what you’re thinking. Things have been going far too smoothly of late, and it’s high time for something to come along and ruin things a bit. Well, don’t you worry, my friend. Today is your lucky day. What better way to start the day than to awake to the sound of rain on a morning that was supposed to be clear. Perfect. Still, we just got on with things, packing up the tent in record time and managing to keep things relatively dry in the process.
So, our plan was largely just a long drive north up to Port Macquarie, but along the way we had intended to head inland a touch to stop by a few sights. Naturally, we typed our desired destination into our GPS and headed on our merry way. No troubles so far and all was well. The closer we drew, however, the rougher the roads got. There were potholes aplenty, and despite there being a fair amount of active road works going on to try and fix them, they seemed to be sprouting up faster than they could be filled in.
Reaching the turn off the GPS suggested, we pulled up to find it was attempting to direct us down someone’s driveway and into their cow-filled paddock. Sigh. Oh well, we’ll just keep on heading along and let it reroute, we thought.
