Awaking from a less than stellar sleep courtesy of the two koalas in the tree above our tent intermittently making horror movie style noises throughout the night, we rose knowing we shouldn’t dally. We didn’t have the fullest schedule planned for the day, but the weather forecast was predicting constant rain from early afternoon onwards, and so we made as much haste as our weary bodies would allow.
With the skies still holding at a light white, and the dark clouds still off in the distance, we decided to take a chance on one of the slightly longer hikes first, hoping to get it out of the way before the heavens opened up. As such, we bundled ourselves into the car and drove to the carpark of the Cora Lynn Cascades trail. No other vehicles sat alongside ours, and so we headed off to enjoy another solitary wander through the wilderness, just the way we liked it.
