Another day, another pack down, but this time it was different. When we got to the other end, we wouldn’t have to pitch the tent again. In fact, we wouldn’t have to pitch it for the next five nights. You see, we were heading up to Sydney at last, and we would be staying with one of my good friends from my days at William Angliss Institute.
Before we got there though, we had a few sights to visit along the way, and we started with one we had missed out on due to a road closure two days prior: Mount Keira Summit Lookout. Reaching the top of the winding peak, we wandered over to the viewing platform to be greeted by a stunning view out over Wollongong and the vast coastline it sits on. The sprawling industrial town was hugged closely by vivid green forests on three sides, and golden sands and azure waters made up the border on the other.
Seeing a sign to another lookout a short walk away, we trekked down the muddy path, hopping over and around puddles until we reached Five Islands Lookout. Unfortunately, the platform was fenced off due to the cliff edge being incredibly unstable courtesy of to a landslip a number of years ago…
