Another day brought with it a tiny frog living its best life in the front room of our tent, and a new opportunity to explore this little corner of the world we’d found ourselves in. We would be exploring the north east corner of Kangaroo Island, though, and as such, we were in for quite a lengthy drive before the fun could begin. En route, we made a quick stop in the tiny town of Parndana to grab a few bread rolls for the next couple of day’s lunches, before continuing down the road to the first real location for the day.
Now, I know some of you may think that 11:30am is too early to roll into a gin distillery, but to be honest, unspoken societal drinking customs don’t really apply when you’re travelling. If you’re nearby, you just fit it in when you can, and that’s exactly what we were doing. Ducking into Kangaroo Island Distillery’s cellar door, we ordered a couple of gin tasting flights and a liqueur flight, and wandered out to warm ourselves by the crackling fire pit in the outdoor area.
