Although I awoke in a state of almost pure congestion, there was no way I was missing the day’s adventure. We’d been planning this one for a while, and although the travel-sickness tablets I’d taken the night before had left me residually groggy, I rousted myself out of bed and into some form of functionality. So where were we headed that called for pre-emptive anti-nausea medication? A whale watching cruise, of course. It seems almost a cruel twist of fate that I have an abiding love of travel and yet I am afflicted with both air and seasickness. Still, you deal with the cards you’re dealt, right?

Reaching the docks, we swiftly located our vessel and climbed aboard, finding ourselves amongst a fairly large group of others. We’d ended up being one of the last to arrive, and were left sitting wherever there was a spot, which actually turned out to be an advantage as the seats we likely would have chosen ended up getting doused with water throughout the trip.
